Below is the ‘Remote Learning’ schedule to begin the 2020-2021 school year. Students should plan on using this schedule whenever the South-Western City Schools is asking students to continue their education entirely at home. Google Classroom will be the primary resource through which instruction will be delivered during remote instruction. After logging in using their SWCS username and password, students will see classrooms for each of their assigned teachers on the main Google Classroom page. Clicking on a class page will take you to that class where students and parents will find all of the information students will need for that particular class.
ATTENDANCE When students log in on a Chromebook there is now a third tab where they can quickly and easily log into Infinite Campus so they can mark themselves in attendance. Teachers can coach students through this process.
MORNING (9am-12:00pm) AFTERNOON (1:00-4:00) Students will attend virtual classes via Google Meet, in the order classes appear on your child’s schedule, not necessarily by the actual class period. Typically, these classes will be ‘Live Instruction’ which may take a variety of formats, including but not limited to: whole group instruction, small group instruction for intervention and/or extension opportunities, one-to-one instruction where teachers work individually with students or a combination of these instructional experiences.
LUNCH Parents/guardians will need to pick up their pre-ordered meals at the school in which their children are enrolled. Meals will be available for pick up on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12 noon-1:00 p.m. and 4:00-6:00 p.m.
FLEX TIME At the teacher’s direction, students and teachers may complete a variety of activities during Flex Time, including:
- Student Work Time: Assigned work can be completed
- Teacher Office Hours: Students/parents can reach out to teachers for help.
- Additional Google Meets/Live Instruction as needed.
* Flex Time will be designed at the discretion of the teacher and may look differently dependent on teachers’ instructional design purposes and goals for student learning.
